The Spirit of Brooklands

MOTORSPORT DAY 1999

Apart from raising awesome amounts of money for the motor industry's own charity, BEN, Motorsport Day at Brooklands Museum has become an essential diary date right at the start of the season. It's a great opportunity for you to get involved and inspire the fans young and old and have a great day out yourself.

Last year Brooklands museum was awarded a grant from the Heritage Lottery fund to restore the Motoring Village. To date we are on target for this restoration and this will open in mid 1999 to feature the unique 'British Grand prix' exhibition. We hope to give everyone a 'sneak' preview of progress on Motorsport Day - Saturday 20th February. Murray Walker, Tiff Needell and Tony Brooks have all pledged their support and of course Brooks will be running their hugely successful auction of motorsport memorabilia, with all the proceeds going to BEN.

A totally new demonstration circuit on the central runway will ensure that the sights, sounds, smells and thrills colour this collection of great cars, celebrities and last season's memorabilia.

There are several ways in which you could participate. We are looking for prime exhibits from the world of modern and vintage motorsport - actual or replica rally and racing cars from the manufacturers and promoters, to be arrayed on our historic site. There will be opportunities for clubs and organisations to promote their activities, with stands or display areas on the site, and a chance to 'meet the fans' whilst promoting two worthy causes. If you are a trader in motorsport and associated goods, there is no better platform for your business and plots are always quickly snapped up. On your request I will send you an application form with details.

If you would like to support BEN and Brooklands Museum, please call me on 01932 857381 and we can discuss the best way your organisation, BEN and Brooklands can benefit.
