As most of you are aware it is time for Southern Car Club's annual pilgrimage to the South Coast for the Rallye Sunseeker.
Saturday 24th February sees the event running for the third year under the Sunseeker banner. This year the rally is a round of the ACSMC/ASEMC, ASWMC, LCAMC championships as well as being the opening round of the ANCRO National Championship, which also includes the Ralliart UK Evolution Challenge.
So, why not get your woollies/waterproofs out and come along to help out and have a fun day. Marshals are required to help with the Start/Finish ramp in Bournemouth town square, setting out the stages and to marshal on the stages.
Awards Success
Southern Car Club held its annual awards dinner and dance on 27th January. The night was well attended and a great success, (I think we should all thank Sue Smith for her hard work in ensuring we had an excellent evening).
Congratulations go out to our award winners; John Blaber (Gentleman driver), Vanessa (bag) Steele (Lady driver & Stage driver), Alan Jamieson (Navigator), Michael Weeks (Trials & Autotest), Tim Hines (Hot Thumbs), Jeremy White (JR Young Trophy), Chrissie Chorley (Marshal), Brian Hugh (Gerraint Phillips Memorial Trophy), Dave Walters (Chairman's Trophy) and Neil Roden (Firman Trophy). Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond my control there are no photographs of the winners receiving their trophies for me to publish. Also among the guests receiving presentations was Marcus Dodd who, in honour of his ANCRO Championship win, was presented with honorary membership to Southern Car Club.
