Veteran Car Run
Have you heard the one about the car club which for nearly fifteen years assisted, first the MSA then TRMG (the publishers) by organising all the selling of the Vet Car Run programmes and was then dumped without the courtesy of any explanation?
Well folks, this is exactly what has happened to Southern - or so it appears. The 2000 running of this great event is now under a month away and despite numerous phone calls to the offices of TRMG (The Really Motoring Group!?), they are not able to say whether we are doing the job this year or not. Such efficiency. Anyway at this late stage in proceedings, it would not be possible for Paul Smith to organise this logistical nightmare in time.
So no Vet Car Run fun in 2000.
Network Q Rally of GB
Talking of programme sales, guess what the very same TRMG have told us about the programme sales operation on Network Q?. That the SCC team (6 or 7 years of hard work) are not required on this years rally either. What about loyalty etc?
Petrol Crisis hits Autotest
Sorry folks, our grass autotest had to be cancelled because of the petrol crisis. We didn't think it fair to ask competitors & marshals to squander precious fuel when we didn't know how it would all end.
