Project Nomad Update

After months of work, Project Nomad has finally reached a conclusion.

Over the last three months your diligent committee members have visited every public house and hotel within a ten-mile radius of Burgh Heath, measuring the function rooms, inspecting the dinner-dance facilities, counting the bedrooms and most importantly sampling the beer.

As time is marching on towards the Heathside's closure, we have reluctantly brought this gruelling programme to an end.

One place we inspected stood out above all the others with good-quality rooms, a decent-sized car-park, and most importantly a friendly landlord. It has rooms suitable for large and small meetings, video/TV sets to view the video collection, and even room to store the Scalex set!

The name of this fabbo place is the Reigate Manor Hotel, Reigate Hill, in (you've guessed it) Reigate.

It's on the A217, about half a mile south of Junction 8 on the M25, and is so easy to find, I'm going to risk saying "you can't miss it". Approximate map reference 186/260 520. As you drive down the hill into Reigate it's on your right immediately after the Esso garage. (I trust those club members coming in the opposite direction will be able to reverse that description...)

We will be organising a "trial" meeting there on October 13th and will be moving there permanently from November 10th. The Dinner Dance on January 10th will of course be held there - yes, it does have plenty of bedrooms for those who want to have the customary good time.
